Offering protection from overtime expenses and overtime callout charges
Both RoadCare and RailCare now feature optional Overtime and Callout Coverage (OTCC) — a new program that is available for truck and trailer, and rail and intermodal reefer transit. This plan offers protection from overtime expenses and overtime callout charges incurred during emergency breakdown situations, which are defined as a truck, trailer or railcar loaded with a temperature-controlled product that is in jeopardy of damage due to failure of the refrigeration unit. The coverage is available for units under the manufacturer's warranty or through Carrier's Extended Major Component Coverage (EMCC) plan.
"The new OTCC plan -is-a- real convenience for customers," said Joe Hock, Carrier's national service sales and marketing manager. "We've got you covered if a compressor fails at 2:00 a.m. and the ice cream is starting to melt or the flowers are starting to wilt. There's no need to worry about the high cost of an after-hours emergency callout charge or 1.5x or 2x overtime labor charges. Our dealers will get you back up and running without the unforeseen expense."
